Hey ya'll just checking in. Not much has been happening in our world but thought I would just do a quick update.

I have been learning the new position at work and I really enjoy it. I was a little nervous about it at first but it is really challenging and makes me use lots of different skills that I am learning I have. I have had a lot of self doubt before but I think I am starting to gain confidence that I needed to see a long time ago. The team is really fun. The girls and I don't see to much of each other because we are pretty spread out but that is ok. It is much quieter than I am used to so I get to crank my radio to the station of the day which is nice.

Rob is doing good at his job. I guess last night all the snow that we had made the roads very slick. He was working a 3-12:30 shift and was on his way home from work and told me that he did a 180 degree spin on I-15 right by 7200 south. As much as I dislike that shift of his, I am glad that he was working it last night because it could have been much much worse. The crazy thing about it is he said he was only going 40 MPH. I believe him because he drives either very cautiously or very erratically. :)

Amber is almost all moved in. We still have a lot of cleaning and finding homes for things but it is coming along. Amber is such a hard worker! She reorganized all the craft stuff that we have on Saturday night and let me sleep cause I was having a bad Fibro day. Her brother Billy (Will) is coming into town on Wednesday until Saturday, so it will be fun for her to have him here. It is going to be fun to meet him.

I will try to update this either later in the week or next week. Can't wait to see everyone else update their blogs too!

Love you all!

Working Harder and Harder Every Day

I am so glad to be back at work (as I have expressed A LOT). I go with a different light in my eyes, a light that is wanting to do better and be better at my job. Apparently my new attitude on life hasn't gone unnoticed. A co-worker of my had some attendance problems and was terminated on Wednesday.
The office manager called me into her office and I thought that I was in trouble for something - always paranoid. She told me that they wanted to offer me the open position in Order Entry because they think that I would really excel in this position. I originally told her that I would need the night to think about it but after talking about the position and hearing her say such positive things about me, I couldn't pass it up.
I started training for the new position today. I will be entering rush orders that come in for orders that need to ship the same day or very soon after. Sooner than standard production. The first day of training was good. There is always a lot to take in when moving to a new position, but because of my background with Revisions/Resolutions, I am very much aware of our computer systems and procedures. My supervisor that I was training with told me that I was doing awesome, and they are very glad to not have to train someone from scratch.
This has all made me feel really good about myself, and also made me feel very blessed. I am very grateful that I am work for a company that I am not just a number in. They recognize everything that we do and they appreciate us for it.
So anyways, that has been our exciting news for the week. Rob starts his round of late night shifts tomorrow, but it's nice because with our friend Amber living with us, the nights won't be so lonely.
Wish me luck on my new adventure at work :)

Another Dr. Appt.

So I went to the doc again on Monday. He said that everything looks good. He said that my voice isn't going to get any worse but it isn't going to get any better either. Oh well, its still good that I have some voice instead of none. I go in next month for another CAT scan to just to make sure there is nothing more lurking around. I am sure from that point I will have one more scan this year and then just one every year from then on.
Other than that, nothing else is new in our world. Just working and still getting Amber moved in. Man, moving sucks.

Back at work

The day has finally come! I started back at work full time today. I don't think I have worked a full time regular schedule since August. Between Mono and Cancer I am so lucky that I have the job I do, and they understand my health problems and are sympathetic to them. Otherwise I think I would be one of the many statistics out there right now. And if you are one of them I am very very sorry, but things will get better!
I am so glad to be back at work. We have been pretty slow and so they days have drug a little bit but today flew by. We weren't crazy busy but it was steady. My team has been so great to me to be willing to work around my schedule. I am so lucky to work so closely with the 5 great women that I do daily.
Other than back at work nothing much is new this week, so far. I guess it's only Monday so I can't really bank to much on nothing crazy happening. I think we are planning on going to Body Worlds either tomorrow night or Wednesday night after I get off work so that will be a lot of fun. We have been wanting to go since it opened we just haven't had the time nor the money for it.
The weekend was good, well for me. Poor Rob had to work the night shift. I got to watch the Utah vs. Alabama game which was a freaking amazing game. And I got to hang out with Amber and Luke and we visited her husband Bill in the care center that he is currently in. We are going to get him out this year. We are all going to get a large place to move into so that it can facilitate all our needs and mostly Bills.
Anywho enough with my randomness, I need to get cleaning... cross your fingers that I will actually do it ;)

2009

Well here we are in a new year! Time to start making new resolutions for us all to forget about in two months. I have read that the best way to try to stick to your goals and resolutions is to write them down and let others know about it so that they can help you achieve them. So I have taken the liberty of making some goals for Rob and I. (He will find out about these later today :) )
  • Get a second car
  • Move to a larger place
  • Get Sealed in the temple (preferably Logan)
  • Stay healthy

I think that is a fair start. We will have to check back in a bit and see how it goes. I have also read that creating deadlines help a lot. It gives more committment to the goal/resolution. I would say for the bigger things - the first three, that June 1, 2009 would be a good deadline.

Let us know what your goals/resolutions are so that we can all help each other to make 2009 the best year yet!
