I am so glad to be back at work (as I have expressed A LOT). I go with a different light in my eyes, a light that is wanting to do better and be better at my job. Apparently my new attitude on life hasn't gone unnoticed. A co-worker of my had some attendance problems and was terminated on Wednesday.
The office manager called me into her office and I thought that I was in trouble for something - always paranoid. She told me that they wanted to offer me the open position in Order Entry because they think that I would really excel in this position. I originally told her that I would need the night to think about it but after talking about the position and hearing her say such positive things about me, I couldn't pass it up.
I started training for the new position today. I will be entering rush orders that come in for orders that need to ship the same day or very soon after. Sooner than standard production. The first day of training was good. There is always a lot to take in when moving to a new position, but because of my background with Revisions/Resolutions, I am very much aware of our computer systems and procedures. My supervisor that I was training with told me that I was doing awesome, and they are very glad to not have to train someone from scratch.
This has all made me feel really good about myself, and also made me feel very blessed. I am very grateful that I am work for a company that I am not just a number in. They recognize everything that we do and they appreciate us for it.
So anyways, that has been our exciting news for the week. Rob starts his round of late night shifts tomorrow, but it's nice because with our friend Amber living with us, the nights won't be so lonely.
Wish me luck on my new adventure at work :)
