March 2009

I can't believe we have flown through another month already! Not much has changed in our boring lives though. We are both still working and are both very grateful to have our jobs. Rob started back at Glover Nursery a couple weeks ago.
I got a gym membership to a small gym here, Planet Fitness. I like it so much better than 24 hour fitness or Gold's Gym. There are way too many people there and it's really intimidating. Planet Fitness it pretty quite and no one seems to judge and I really like that. Plus the have massage chairs and tanning beds that you can use anytime which is fun.
Other than that nothing exciting or fun has happened to us. We are still the same old boring married people lol.

The Great Adventure!

Amber and I went to Latrobe, PA to see her family at the end of February. Latrobe is about an hour southwest from Pittsburgh. On the flight out we left at 12:00 am. Our flight was very full. I didn't think there would be a lot of people flying at that time but oh I was surprised. We flew into JFK, and the plane that we were on had TV screens on the back of every chair. We were able to watch TV and listen to music for free. Amber was very nice and bought us MP3 players from Circuit City as they are going out of business. We loaded a lot of music on them but we didn't listen to them that much on the flight cause we had other distractions lol. When we got to JFK we boarded a little puddle jumper. It was a very empty flight. They didn't have overhead bins so they put the carry on luggage under the plane. We were able to move around the plane and lounge in a row of 2 seats that was very nice! We flew past downtown NYC and we got to see Central Park as well. The sky was a bit hazy so we didn't have the greatest view but at least I can say that I have seen it. I really want to go there one day! We got into Pittsburgh and there was a light dusting of snow on the ground. We met Amber's bro Jesse and sis-in-law Mikie and Cagen and Aiden at the luggage carousel. Then we hit the road to go to Latrobe! This entire trip is a complete surprise to Mom and Dad Ernsberger. Because of Dad's ailing health this trip became so much more important. They we shocked when we knocked on the door. They are so good to me. They have all welcomed me into their family. Amber's brother Billy told her that he was not going to be coming out because he had other obligations that were more important. She was very upset by that. We looked to the front of the apartment and Billy walked in the door! Billy brought his adorable dog, Wade along. He is such a good dog. He is very lovey. Amber is trying to talk me into getting a Cavalier. I believe it is a breed of Spaniels. It was so great for everyone to be together. So we hung out there from Friday when we flew in until Monday afternoon when we had to fly back. We went to dinner at Red Robin all together. Jesse and Mikie found this little pizza place that made the best breadsticks! There was another pizza place that we went to the first day and their pizza's were huge! The box was like almost doubled the size of my lap. We went shopping and we went sight seeing. There we so many trees there. I wish it was spring time because the trees would have been that much prettier. There was a gorgeous school there, unfortunately before we went out there was a shooting at the school and I believe one person died. We had a really fun birthday party for Laura, she turned 7. Next year she gets to be baptized! That will be so exciting for her. Because of diabetes, Dad had to have part of his left leg amputated right below the knee. He is such a great man. So positive like nothing has happened to him. Unfortunately he was not feeling well enough to go to church on Sunday. He was in bed most of the day. Amber found some Whoopie Pies which is something that she grew up with. They are chocolate cake with frosting in the middle. They were really yummy! It was so great to just hang out with the family. On the way home we flew in another puddle jumper to Cincinnati, Ohio airport and I learned at that point that the airport is in Kentucky. It's crazy! On the last leg of the trip we had a full plane again. There was a movie playing on small screens scattered throught the plane. The movie they showed was The Family that Prey's together. It was much better than I thought it would be. We had a great time on our trip. It was hard for Amber to leave but it has made her want to do more so that she can go and visit them more. That means more traveling for me too :) YAY!
It's definitely been too long since I have written on here. Not much has been happening in our life. For right now (and hopefully for a long time) things are staying pretty steady. Amber's brother Billy wasn't able to come out because of problems with his dog. Amber was pretty disappointed but maybe he will come another time.
Rob had to work on Valetine's night so we unfortunately didn't get to do anything to celebrate. He was very cute though, when I woke up Valentine's day I woke up to a very pretty rose and a very very nice card. He did good. I love him so much. He is very very good to me. He definitely puts up with a lot. I am sure I am a pretty big handful! We shared the flu around the apartment a little bit. I ended up missing about a half a week of work :(. After we all got feeling better, it was time for Amber and I to go on vacation! Poor Rob wasn't able to go because he had to work but he had Luke (Amber's dog) to keep him company and good ol' Tigger also.
I had another CAT scan done and went to the doc and he said that everything was still looking good. He bumped out my visits to him to every 2 months and my next CAT scan in 6 months. Oh boy can't wait! I am thinking with my "sexy" voice that I might be in the wrong profession :)

Hey ya'll just checking in. Not much has been happening in our world but thought I would just do a quick update.

I have been learning the new position at work and I really enjoy it. I was a little nervous about it at first but it is really challenging and makes me use lots of different skills that I am learning I have. I have had a lot of self doubt before but I think I am starting to gain confidence that I needed to see a long time ago. The team is really fun. The girls and I don't see to much of each other because we are pretty spread out but that is ok. It is much quieter than I am used to so I get to crank my radio to the station of the day which is nice.

Rob is doing good at his job. I guess last night all the snow that we had made the roads very slick. He was working a 3-12:30 shift and was on his way home from work and told me that he did a 180 degree spin on I-15 right by 7200 south. As much as I dislike that shift of his, I am glad that he was working it last night because it could have been much much worse. The crazy thing about it is he said he was only going 40 MPH. I believe him because he drives either very cautiously or very erratically. :)

Amber is almost all moved in. We still have a lot of cleaning and finding homes for things but it is coming along. Amber is such a hard worker! She reorganized all the craft stuff that we have on Saturday night and let me sleep cause I was having a bad Fibro day. Her brother Billy (Will) is coming into town on Wednesday until Saturday, so it will be fun for her to have him here. It is going to be fun to meet him.

I will try to update this either later in the week or next week. Can't wait to see everyone else update their blogs too!

Love you all!

Working Harder and Harder Every Day

I am so glad to be back at work (as I have expressed A LOT). I go with a different light in my eyes, a light that is wanting to do better and be better at my job. Apparently my new attitude on life hasn't gone unnoticed. A co-worker of my had some attendance problems and was terminated on Wednesday.
The office manager called me into her office and I thought that I was in trouble for something - always paranoid. She told me that they wanted to offer me the open position in Order Entry because they think that I would really excel in this position. I originally told her that I would need the night to think about it but after talking about the position and hearing her say such positive things about me, I couldn't pass it up.
I started training for the new position today. I will be entering rush orders that come in for orders that need to ship the same day or very soon after. Sooner than standard production. The first day of training was good. There is always a lot to take in when moving to a new position, but because of my background with Revisions/Resolutions, I am very much aware of our computer systems and procedures. My supervisor that I was training with told me that I was doing awesome, and they are very glad to not have to train someone from scratch.
This has all made me feel really good about myself, and also made me feel very blessed. I am very grateful that I am work for a company that I am not just a number in. They recognize everything that we do and they appreciate us for it.
So anyways, that has been our exciting news for the week. Rob starts his round of late night shifts tomorrow, but it's nice because with our friend Amber living with us, the nights won't be so lonely.
Wish me luck on my new adventure at work :)
